I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery.”

Colossians 2 v 2 (The Message)

Eugene Peterson’s choice of “woven into a tapestry of love” is a vivid metaphor for being bound together in a community of believers by love. A tapestry is made by interlacing threads — here, the “threads” are the lives, faith, and love of each person.

Remember: Unity is not uniformity.  We are all different and each person is made in the image of God.
