Part 2 – Joshua 3 v 1-8 – Pioneering and crossing over. Main points are as follows.

When God speaks it generates faith and faith comes through hearing. When God says you can go on then you can!

A warning – don’t get stuck in the past!

DBC was once a pioneering church.  We need to move on and pioneer again. Let’s take possession of the land – trailblaze – break new ground and move into our inheritance.

We will not have been this way before so Bryan gave us encouragement to not be afraid, to be strong and courageous and to expect God to do something new but above all to be obedient. The walls of Jericho coming down in the way that they did was a new way of doing things.  God is in control.  We need to let go of past securities. Some things are for a season and are transient.  Some things may have to go! Our leaders will have to step into the waters first but the best is yet to come.

Let’s be prepared.  Let’s not be afraid.  Let’s step out upon the waters!

You call me out upon the waters,
The great unknown where feet may fail.
And there I find You in the mystery,
In oceans deep my faith will stand.

And I will call upon Your name,
And keep my eyes above the waves,
When oceans rise,
My soul will rest in Your embrace,
For I am Yours and You are mine.
