Once again Sue brought some friends along with her – Boots, Ginger and a newcomer, Leo who looked like a tiger but was a lion at heart!

Our story was from 1 Samuel 16 – Saul anointing David as King. The heart of the matter is that God looks at the heart!

Did you know that there are 150 references to lions in the Bible? Who knew?!

Sue focused on David who fought off a lion while tending his sheep and Daniel who was rescued by God in the lion’s den. Both of these mighty servants of God trusted in the one who does not change and is faithful to all of His promises.

David knew that God would deliver him from the hand of Goliath as he drew on past experiences of overcoming a lion and a bear.  The Bible says that David was a man after God’s own heart! The battle belongs to the Lord and He will strengthen us for the battles and challenges that we will face in this life.

Daniel trusted in God and would not bow to pressure to worship the king, preferring to worship God wholeheartedly. God rescued him from the lion’s den and his devotion to God spoke volumes to king Darius, so much so that he issued a decree that people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel – the living God who endures for ever!

Sue encouraged us to share our faith through words and actions. Our God is unchanging and faithful and has promised to be with us till the end of the age.
