Downs Baptist Church runs a variety of outreach activities – from small groups who meet on a weekly basis – to missionary works in countires accross the world. We also run a local community greengrocer’s shop in Warren Road (Woodingdean) as part of our outreach to the local community and have appointed Sue Foster as part time manager.
We have a Community Resource Centre on the Falmer Road next to the Post Office. The Centre is open on Tuesday mornings 9a.m. to 1 p.m. manned by one of our elders for advice, prayer and support for the church and community, as well as at other times during the week, e.g. for NIMOS, and is used as a base for our Youth Worker, Sean Older. When the Centre is not open contact can be made via the Greengrocers or by answerphonemessage. We are also running a Cafe Church activity in the Java Cafe on the first Sunday of each month from October to March at 4:30 p.m.
Through these groups and outreach activities, DBC is aiming to reach the wider community and bring people into a relationship with the church and with Christ.
