Leadership Team

The aim of all leadership at DBC is to prepare God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ might become mature.

This means using the ministry leadership gifts outlined in Ephesians 4 as appropriate:

  •  linking with other ministries in and outside the local church (apostleship)
  • discerning and declaring what God is saying (prophecy)
  • reaching out to others outside the church (evangelism)
  • encouraging well being and fellowship (pastoring)
  • encouraging spiritual growth (teaching)

Our pastor, elders and deacons all live in the Woodingdean area and are committed to developing the life of the church within the community.

Emerging Leaders - raising up a new generation of leaders in the church...
Following their retreat in the Spring, the elders at DBC have been led by the Lord to develop this opportunity, to identify and nurture those God may be calling to leadership in the Body
of Christ.
In the Autumn of 2009, we aim to begin a process of identifying those God is calling, relating to them, instructing and preparing them for God’s call on their lives,., sharing
our lives and experience with them.
As a church in all of our areas of ministry we always need o be thinking about ‘succession’ — raising up the next generation of leadership - and this is part of that ongoing challenge.
