DBC House Groups are small, weekly discipleship groups that offer people the chance to develop their understanding of the bible, pray, worship, get to know God and each other better and explore His purposes.

They are all led by members of the church and held in homes or at the Resource Centre.

House Groups are an integral part of life at Downs Baptist Church, and they are a wonderful source of encouragement, pastoral care, and spiritual support.

All members and regular attenders of DBC are encouraged to be involved.

We encourage the groups to follow up on the teaching from our Sunday Services, and to discuss application of the lessons we learn to every day life through the practical application of teaching and encouragement of spiritual growth.

Through the groups we aim to work out our fivefold purpose:

• Well being – Sharing love and caring for others
• Worship – Expressing the worth-ship of God – together and individually
• Witness – Living and showing our faith to bring others to Christ
• Wholeness – Equipping and building each other up in the faith, “Spiritual Growth”
• Work out – Faith in action, serving the community and the Christian family throughout the world
