Downs Baptist Church Covenant
At Downs Baptist Church we welcome into membership those who profess saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and have declared the same in believers’ baptism; who are at one with us in purpose and who feel called to join with us in the work and witness of this local church.
We will seek to encourage the spiritual walk and witness of all who join with us as members by:
Offering regular and inspiring opportunities for corporate worship, both in congregations and smaller groups,
Encouraging members in their personal witness and giving opportunities for involvement in evangelism and mission,
Giving pastoral care and support, being sensitive to needs and concerns as they arise, and supporting members in their personal walk with Christ,
Providing an environment of warm fellowship with regular and appropriate teaching, to assist individuals in their growth in Christ,
Enabling members to discover and use their spiritual gifts in the life of the church; providing opportunities to serve and minister as together we work out our faith in community.
We will take care to be good stewards of all of the resources, financial and otherwise, made available to the church, in furthering God’s vision and purpose for Downs Baptist Church.
Recognising the vital importance of prayer for all that we do, we will give priority to opportunities for corporate prayer, in congregation and in smaller groups
