A number of the DBC congregation gathered for a short walk through North Woodingdean on a glorious Palm Sunday morning before our customary service.

Traffic was very heavy as it was the Brighton Marathon and many more cars than usual had to travel through the village. We were greeted with toots from car horns as we strolled along carrying a large cross and banners.

Palm Sunday commemorates when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and the crowds waved palm branches and welcomed him as the coming king.

This year we were without Solomon the donkey and the aim was simply to make people wonder what we were up to and to ponder what Easter is really all about!

There was an opportunity to pray for all those who drove past and saw our little procession and for those who live in our community.
